Knock-on effect

So, last night I walked past the dishwasher when the door was open and caught my ankle.

Ouch.

And it hurt like hell and still hurt when I went to bed.  I guess I slept wonky in an attempt to ‘protect’ the ankle from the weight of the duvet, or something, and woke up with no lower limb pain but a really horrid kink in my back!  One of those “it hurts sitting, standing and walking, and stretching doesn’t help” kinks. Nothing serious, it will wear off.

But I was in need of a laugh.

And thanks to Pinterest, I found it:

I think this is who I will be when I grow up.

    1. It's nothing that a walk and a soak in the bath won't fix, but thank you.

      There's a difference between growing up and getting old {{ 😉😉😉 }}

  2. Hope the pain subsides soon. I'm not sure I've ever grown up, but the body feels older than my mind wants it to be.(lol) You've posted puppy dog cartoon & mine was a teddy bear, so maube neither of us are grown up. Take care & huggles.

  3. Hope the back feels better soon. When I broke my toe I ended up with more pain in my other leg as I was using muscles I don't usually use because I was walking differently. I wonder if you ever feel grown up, I sometimes wonder how it is that my kids seem more grown up than I do.

    1. Hi Jo, I suspect 'referred pain' is far mroe common, and far more destructive, than it is ever given credit for.

      We now think that some of the many years of dreadful shoulder problems had originated from muscles which are connected to the pelvis.

    2. Yes, it's great except I have to go to work!lol. Last week I was playing 'dodge the builder' on a site in Manchester city centre just to get a photo for my blog (latest post). I worked in a school for 11 years a while back and couldn't wait for the long summer holiday :)

  6. I'm always kicking things as I walk past, coffee table legs breakfast bar stools etc etc, and walking into the end of our bed, meaning a constant supply of bruised toes and little circular bruises on my thigh from the foot-board. Ouch, bloody ouch.

    There are a lot of Snoopy memes around at the moment and t-shirts with him and sayings on ... he must be back in fashion :-)

    1. You sound like me Sue. I have to wear shoes or slippers pretty much all the time in the house because my toes cannot take the collateral damage :-)

      And yes - hip/thigh bruises at furniture height, had lots of them :-(
