HRT *

Oops.

The Voices Made Me Do it.
Honest . . .

I went into B&Q for a "couple of pots of narcissus to put on the outside table" but got waylaid.  Not sure what was happening but beautiful hellebore at, given their size and condition, half the price tag they would have been anywhere else.

And sweet little "tete-a-tete' bulbs at £1.00 a pot, nicer and better value than the large bright yellow pots.

And a couple of multi-packs of sempervivum reduced to £3.00 each; at 50p per pot I couldn't leave them behind . . . theirs was the squeaky little impossible to ignore voice saying "take us home please, give us somewhere safe and well-drained to live".

And the makings of another little box hedge at 80p per plant.  Irresistible!

Oh well, that's what I have a gardening budget for ☺️☺️

    1. Hi Marlene, I refuse to take any blame if I hear you 'accidentally' find yourself in B&Q's plant department tomorrow :)

  2. -grinnnnnnn-

Yeahhhh, how can you resist those tiny voices... Calling out, to be brought home, and given a good home...?

    1. A long time ago I gave up pretending anything other than I am an addict when it comes to plants . . .

  3. I think your version of HRT sounds much better than the medical version - and anyway, how could you ignore those squeaky little voices :)

    1. Exactly! Especially as I was already planning some bowls of sempervivum 'strategically' placed this year (and fairly robust if we get another drought), with the idea of putting them in the greenhouse over winter to stop them rotting in the rain. And there they were . . . of course, now I have to get the bowls, grit, compost . . .

  4. oh I'm glad it's not just me - I have a habit of needing to try just one more seed variety!

    1. Glad it's not just me. I "said" I was going to cut down on seeds this year so that I could go away in the campervan at a few hours' notice.

That hasn't worked so far - I seem to have acquired 13 packets of seed in the last couple of weeks and heavens knows how much is in "The Seed Box" which is still viable!

  5. Ooooh! I'm so tempted. Our garden is desperate for some colour.
I'm sure all your plants will be very happy in their new home. X

    1. Go on Jules. The weather forecast for tomorrow is horrible and B&Q's current bargains won't last long.

  6. That's so you, though I did think HRT could be half rectangle triangle! LOL I love what you've bought & must get some succulents for an old casserole dish I no longer use. Take care.

    1. Thanks Susan, I wonder if your succulents will end up being the same as mine :-)

    1. I am clearly a very bad influence on you Eileen. You're seeing nothing wrong with hearing voices . . .

  8. I got HRT just before the big freeze. Some lovely primroses/ primulas in gorgeously cheerful colours and some tiny purple irises.... I spent yesterday picking most of the flowers off as they'd frozen solid in the -0 temperatures. Fingers crossed for some phoenix like action from them as things warm up.
Love the rescued sempervivums, so cute. x

    1. Sorry - comment lag! Hope you little pretties survived the cold snap. The sempervivums are resting in the greenhouse, getting a chance to dry out.
