All put away

Another miserably grey and cold day, I have had the mantle lights on since mid-morning.

Assuming I get the decorations out early next December, that's everything safely packed away for around 333 days.

Well, nearly everything.  There will be at least one new Heartwood Creek Santa joining the team - the perils of going online and finding that some decorations are on sale in January 😄

  1. Most of my expensive decorations were purchased after Christmas in the sales, but nothing has caught my eye this year.

    1. I haven't even been out to look :) The temptation of online shopping is quite enough.

  2. I took our decorations down earlier today, but I really should have left some fairy lights out. It looks so gloomy. X

  4. I think it always feels like a bit if an anticlimax when everything gets put away :( Jayne, if you've not already seen it have a look at Hawthorn's most recent post - great photos for 'upside down' don't you think? :)

  5. This was the first Christmas we only had the tree and mantle piece decoration, no garlands around the room. For years we've had lights on the outside of he house but we gave them all to our daughter for her bungalow then there is no temptation for husband to try to climb on ladders! I managed to buy some cards and gift tags in the half price sale while I was in town for a haircut but will resist looking for bargains online. Ours are all put away now and the room does seem bare.

    1. We do not do outside lights any more Eileen, up here they are so likely to get thrashed by wind and rain it's not worth it.
