First thing, first frost

First thing this morning the valley floor was filled with mist, but as the sun rose it soon started to burn off. We are forecast clear blue skies and sunshine all day so it's outside shortly to get on with hedge cutting.

We'll need to wrap up to do so, there's not much wind but what there is has come from the east so it is a tad on the nippy side - the first frost of the coming winter on the grass and windscreens.

  1. It's a beautiful Autumn day here. There was a low mist over the fields on our way to school this morning. X

  2. Hi Jules. It has turned out quite gorgeous here too. No wind now, blue sky, so warm we're both working in just fleeces - jackets got dumped early on :)

  4. It was rather cool this morning but as of yet, no serious frost. Working in the summerhouse while the sun was out was reminiscent of our summer but now, as the evening approaches I feel I'm cooling down reminding me to go inside x

    1. Thanks Kate, it certainly was glorious in the sun today. Perhaps your studio needs a cute little pot-belly woodburner for the winter? (and gently snoozing cats and dog curled up in front of it all day {grin} )

  5. It's forecast to last the next couple of days, down here at least. Make the most of it!

    1. Hi Jessica, hope you can get outside and are not trapped inside with plumbers/tilers/trades of any description!

  6. That's interesting about your frosts. Ours are hopefully over, though the weather has been very up & down, with today predicted to reach about 27, then a cooler day tomorrow of around 16. Oh boy, I wish it could make up its mind, as we've had warm nights, then cold and this morning we were blanketed in fog first thing. At least we've had some rain, which we desperately needed. Have a lovely weekend & take care.

    1. I thought of you when I was grumbling about the frost - 27 is just about perfect, nice and warm but not so hot as you cannot do anything. xx
