Derailed

There is always a plan - but sometimes we don't stick to it.  I had hoped to spend today cleaning and tidying in our new baby but it did not happen.

There has been some cleaning, but the carpenter arrived this morning to fix up a couple of things in M's study which was far more distracting than expected, and after lunch a couple of motorhome-owing neighbours popped in to see our new baby and stayed far longer than expected.  By the time they left the sun had gone in and we were freezing cold - had not got far enough along in the campervan organising to have put the heating on  (d'uh?) - and tiredness from yesterday had caught up with me.

Looks like the roof could do with a bit of a clean, good job we've got some big ladders, ha ha.

It's going to be a very quiet night in front of the woodburner.

  1. I know what you mean about getting derailed, it happens to me quite frequently - I really should learn to say 'no' if other people want things when I'm busy :(

It seems like your big ladders will come in handy for doing the roof, although I would have thought, or even expected, that it would have been done before the hand-over.

    1. You're right Eunice, it really wasn't the best time for our neighbours to come over but in the 'great scheme of things' it didn't matter.

Yes, in an ideal world the van would be spotlessly clean before we picked it up BUT it is a secondhand van, which (along with about 20 others) came from an auction 6 months ago and has been standing at the factory waiting to be converted. But it isn't an ideal world. The cab area is a little grubby by our standards but it's nothing dreadful, and you have to factor in that M. and I are a tad on the 'particular' side when we decide to clean something! By anyone normal person's standards it was probably OK to get straight into and drive to the beach 😀

  2. Life does have a way of throwing up the unexpected, but just go with the flow & don't stress.(yep, that coming from me?) Could have done with your wood-burner last night, though the sun is out this morning, but a cold wind is blowing. Off to car club now. Take care.

    1. Who are you and what have you done with Susan whilst you are inhabiting her body?

Hope your lovely relaxed feeling continues all day and you have a great time out with your club and friends.

  3. Don't worry, there's always another day to get things done. It certainly has gone cold in the evenings, our new gas fire gives out some good warmth!

    1. Morning Eileen, does Annie like snuggling up in front of the new fire? I have to navigate Daisy's big memory foam bed to get to the woodburner!

    2. She certainly does, I sometimes think I might have to drag her away when she gets too hot :)

  4. I hope you enjoyed your quiet evening. I'd love to be sat in front of a woodburner. The chores will still be waiting for another day. X
