Thursday night - 47mm of rain, 1¾ inches.  Is it ever going to stop?
I regularly give thanks that we live on a hill and the river is 50 feet below us.

  1. Yep, many was the time last year (when we got nearly 5' of rain) that I was very happy to be on top of the hill instead of down by the creek. *glub*

As for that double rainbow - just splendid!

  2. Thanks Kris, we often get double 'bows at the time of day I took this - must be something to do with the angle of the sun.

  3. So sorry you guys are so wet these days. So, how's the quilting coming along?? :)

  4. Hi FFG, quilting is not coming on fast enough, sadly, there are just NOT enough hours in the day!

    1. Thanks Jill. Sorry not to reply sooner, been deluged here by more than rain. Lots going on including another turbine hearing which has taken a lot of work to prepare for. It was this afternoon, and thankfully, the application was refused.

  6. 'Tis a stunner of a photo Bilbo. I, too, an very glad we live on top of a hill - Chezza' would have to be completely submerged (including the spire!) before we even got our toes damp...but it's trying its hardest again this morning! :-(

    1. Hi Nutty, glad you liked the pic. We're the same as you floodwise - if we're wet then Cockermouth would be totally submerged, along with most of the Western coastal plain.

Thank you for leaving comments, I love receiving them; sometimes they are the only way I know I am not talking to myself . . . 😊
