Something else which will not be finished in one day

I'm not a complete idiot, there is no way I could have achieved all this in one day 20 years ago and I certainly do not expect to now.
This is not so much a task list, more of an aide memoire  of where I'd like to be by the end of the weekend . . . and if not the weekend, then maybe next week.  Our weather forecast is for NO RAIN until the end of the month, something that is just too good not to take advantage of.

To the person at the back, who has a birthday tomorrow - you know who you are - STOP SNIGGERING.   You can criticise my lists when all your filing is done.

  1. I love a list and often have more than one on the go.

    1. Good for you! No need to worry until you make a list of all your Lists!

  2. Seeing that list would have me giving up before I'd even started! I don't make lists as I feel pressured into doing everything on them so I just keep things in my head and do them when I get round to them - and in weather like we are currently having I'd much rather be out with the dogs than stuck at home doing things :)

    1. I agree with you Eunice, if I have too much on a list it depresses me because there's just too much to contemplate doing. In a garden this big it is terribly easy to get distracted and 'forget' to do something so a few notes helps keep me on track.

  3. Hey! My lists look like that!, in fact, let me list the one right next to me now.... erhm here goes..
    1. email artists
    2. check availability of cafe gallery wall
    3. Meet with xxxx at 10.30am
    4. See if xxxx is free for discussion
    5. make labels for sunday
    6. check table cloth and weights for same
    7. water plants

you get the gist, the list goes to number 27 ..... have I done them all yet? of course not! Had I planned to? oh yes but what is never written down for it is an unwritten rule - never miss out of a mug of tea and a natter with friends :)

    1. Oops - I think I prefer my list to yours Kate. If my stuff doesn't get done because I've sat with a book, or played with Daisy then it doesn't matter. Yours on the other hand, is time critical and cannot be ignored. Hope you are making good progress with it all.

  4. I like that there'll be no rain for the rest of the month, of course you have to take advantage of that. You know what jobs need to be done, just pace yourself.
Now that our two year battle over a small piece of land is over... and we won, yesterday we went to ask for a quote to have our very small garden landscaped, I'm afraid it's not something we can do ourselves. I wrote down all the jobs on paper too.

    1. Eileen, hopefully you will be able to create an outdoor space you can enjoy and relax in, I know that's not been the case for the past couple of years.

  5. The weather forecast seems unbelievable doesn't it. I started out with good intentions today but it was just too.. HOT! Not something I complain about often. Tomorrow we switch to siesta hours.

    1. Thanks Jessica, "siesta hours" - sound great but not something we have to worry about too much in the frozen North . . . but you are right, the recent weather has been something of a surprise.
I just checked the weather forecast, we are due a small squall this morning and after that - NO RAIN until the forecast runs out (2nd June). I'm having to water newly transplanted plants - d'uh?

  8. We are back at home & I've just caught up on your posts & commented twice, but must have logged out of my google account somehow, so will now think about doing you an email tomorrow with some chat after I've had a good night's sleep, deep heated my back & done "loads" of washing. I'm also a list maker & tomorrow's will be a long one. Take care.

    1. Welcome home Susan, sorry I missed this comment but I'm not getting the email notifications. I've checked my settings and my email account, so no idea what's going on.

Hope you are feeling better now. xx
