Just checking ..

After the piecing frenzy of the last couple of weeks it occured to me that it might be a good idea to check these Trip Around the World quilts actually looked OK in the campervan.

Yeah baby!

The blue/grey fabric in the middle will be pefect for backing.

In other news, there was no gardening today because I'm too flippin' tired.  Daisy woke me up at 2.29am . . . it was very cold outside as I stood around in dressing grown, thick coat and wellies whilst she ate grass and went to the loo, her usual reaction when something has upset her tummy.  She needed to go out again at 3.05 am .... and another three times between then and 4.30am.  She has never needed five trips outside in one night and when the poor girl was finally settled, despite a fresh hot water bottle I was frozen to the core, and it took me another hour or so to get back to sleep.  We think the "culprit" was a tiny bit of leftover pork fillet.  That's it sweetie, no more treats from Mummy and Daddy's plate - ever.

Clearly I am not the only one who is plum-tuckered-out today and needs to chill out.

  1. Goodness... you must both be shattered. It was a cold night to be repeatedly visiting the garden. I hope Daisy feels better now. Jx

    1. Thanks Jan. Shattered is one description ... It was "interesting" to observe/experience how it got much colder every time we went out, but that correlates with the weather forecast. I would rather have observed that on the phone app than in person ☹️

    1. Thanks Marlene. Daisy has been absolutely fine all day, although she has spent most of it sleeping. Glad you like the quilt tops, have I tempted you to make something for your van?

    1. Thanks J. Daisy seems perfectly OK and has been happy and eating well. She’s currently in her warm pod next to the bed, I can hear very deep sleepy breathing

    1. Cheers Susan. A whole sofa, a big lump of memory foam, and Madam lays on the carpet and follows the sun - she’s not completely daft :)

  7. Aww, poor Daisy, I hope she's feeling better now. Sorry you had to stand out in the freezing cold, I hope you got warmed up again eventually. The quilts are looking good but I have to ask (and you may have mentioned it before but if you have then sorry, I don't remember reading it) what's the significance of Trip Around The World?

    1. Hi Eunice, I think I was warm by about 6.00am - sigh,

TATW is not a veiled reference to plans for a long trip in the campervan! It is the name of this particular quilt pattern which is nothing more than lots of squares all the same size, with colours arranged to create a concentric pattern. It is an old and long-established quilt design, often originally attributed to Amish quiltmakers

    2. Thanks for explaining. I actually wondered if maybe it was because all the different fabrics used had come from different parts of the world.

  9. Moss too gets these bouts of 'it-was-yummy-but-ooh-it-doesn't-agree-with-my-tummy' moments. So we also have to restrict from the table treats. Which is a shame coz my folks are used to having access to 'eat-everything' labradors and not border collies with delicate digestive systems and we keep being offered all sorts of off limit goodies for her. Never mind. Hope Daisy (and you) have caught up with your sleep and both feeling back to normal x

    1. Thanks Kate, what a shame (for her) that Miss Moss also has an easily disturbed tummy. Everyone got through last night without disruption so life is looking much better today 🙂
