Far too nice to stay at home

I have no doubt that sooner or later the weather will start chucking all sorts of nastiness at us, but for now we're blessed with mostly clear skies and despite the cold, this afternoon it was definitely time to get out!  I was more than a little shocked to find the NT car park near Scale Hill packed just after lunch so Daisy and I took the 'path less trod' leaving numerous grandparents and small children to make as much noise on the beaches as they liked.

We walked over Turner's Hill (I know that is not what it's really called!) and were blessed with COMPLETE AND TOTAL SILENCE, not even the sound of wind.  Only an hour's walk, but quite wonderful 😀

This is all on our doorstep - I still have to pinch myself occasionally  😉

  1. I want to come too! It looks beautiful. The photo of Daisy really accentuates those ears. Well, we are in for another scorcher today, so enjoy those beautiful crisp days & will talk soon. Take care.

    1. We did much the same walk and when you & Keith were here, shame you couldn't have enjoyed the same weather!

  2. A beautiful walk. And those blue skies!!! We seem to have walked our way in to 2017. The weather has been so good. Even today, the weekly shop was put off for a trip to the park instead.
Daisy looks very smart in her jacket. X

    1. Thanks Jules, nothing wrong with lots of walks :). As for the jacket - when it's cold Madam will not go out without it!

    1. Thanks Leigh, it does have it's price though - long way from many of the shops and services that most people take for granted.

  5. Fabulous photos Jayne. You are so lucky. I hate walking where there are loads of noisy people. I haven't been out of the house for three days as suffering with a very heavy cold and can hardly get out of bed. Never mind it might pick up again next week and I can get out and walk. My OH bought be a Garmin Navi Active watch to log my walking etc and I have hardly used it this week.

  7. Thanks Jayne, still suffering with this blessed cold so we have not been going out very much, I have never had a cold like this for very many years. But the plus side is that I have spent quite a lot of time looking on the internet. I have ordered some of my seeds for the allotment from Simply Seeds, who are very reasonable. The rest of the time I have done absolutely nothing. Hopefully next week things will improve.

    1. Sorry you're still not better Catherine. Management came home from work at Christmas with a similar bug that does not want to clear up.
I must get a hurry up and finalise my seed order for this year, thanks for the reminder. That might be my 'gardening' this weekend seeing as it's so cold.

  8. Some fab photos there Jayne, it looks like you and Daisy had a great walk.

I took my two out for a New Year canal walk last week, the weather was cold but lovely and sunny and I got some good shots. I was even lucky enough to see a Mandarin duck, quite an unusual sight on a canal. Check out this for some pics of him, he was beautiful - https://mousehouselife.wordpress.com/2017/01/02/a-new-year-canal-walk/
