For the third night running

Oh dear, there seems to be a pattern developing.  For the last three evenings Daisy and I have curled up in front of the woodburner after supper because it is Cold.Outside!  Might be the end of June, supposedly the middle of summer, but the weather clearly did not get the memo.

I know I've been neglecting my little blog recently, but it was something of a surprise to log on tonight and see that my last post, just a fortnight ago, contained almost the same photograph . . . clearly There.Is.A.Pattern.Developing.

  1. No - no, definitely different ... Daisy has turned round ... and you have a mason jar glowing beautifully on the left - so there Not The Same!! ps it is awful weather and yes definitely need the fire on! Moss has taken herself off to bed ... xx

    1. Extra cream cake for the most observant girl! Cheapo big jar from Aldi came with a lid containing a teeny tiny light, but I think the experiment with a small string of battery operated lights is a success :)

Sorry you have the same dreadful weather (garden did need the rain though), and hope Moss is nicely snuggled up.

  2. Clearly out of th EU, your beautiful island thinks she is now down under (giggle), as your weather is very much like ours at the moment. Wish I had a wood heater!!!!!
Is it also spot the difference? The photo is taken closer, as no mantel in view and the log basket isn't overflowing. Oh dear, aren't I silly? Hope your weather warms up soon and maybe you'll have an Indian summer. Take care.

    1. You're right Susan, feels like we have left the northern hemisphere, not just the EU :)

An Indian summer would be wonderful, as would a dry warm August . . .

  3. If it's any consolation the weather down here is pants too. Thunderstorm and heavy rain on Monday, more rain on Tuesday and yesterday, and yet more rain today. and yes, it's gone cold too. I should have been away this weekend at the Elvaston Castle steam rally but it's been cancelled due to the waterlogged ground - British weather certainly has a lot to answer for!

    1. No consolation at all, just sorry you are also suffering.

Sorry your weekend has been cancelled but heavy steam engines and soggy fields are not a good combination.

    1. I know the garden needs a good soak but the rain has come at just the wrong time for our strawberries - how is the allotment?

  5. The weather isn't great but it's a good excuse to light your woodburner. It doesn't look like Daisy is complaining :-) X

    1. Me neither Jules :) There is something comforting about the fire which must touch some ancestral memory, I would hate to be without our wood burner.

    1. You'd be very welcome :) But you don't have to sit on the floor unless you want to, we do have chairs too!
