  2. I'm going to try again with clematis this year. Have the perfect split rail fence for it to run along. Never had any luck at all in Florida. I truly love these things. Yours are just lovely.

    1. Good luck FFG, I can't imagine having a garden without clematis.

      Apologies if I'm 'teaching my grandmother' but make sure the roots are protected and cannot dry out, either by putting a large slab/stone on the ground after planting to cover the whole root ball, or a pot, or a small evergreen shrub if appropriate. Clematis like the heads to be dry and sunny, and their feet to be damp and shady.
