Nothing is ever simple here

We have a new toy important piece of wildlife watching kit.

Been cogitating it for two years or more and unable to make a choice.  35% off at Amazon on Monday made the decision a lot simpler!  Works beautifully, takes more than acceptable pictures but of course there is a problem - can't find a suitable 'something' to fasten it to by the top pond which both gives us the necessary field of view and conceals a particularly nickable bit of kit.  Spying on bird feeder antics will have to wait a while :{

  1. Is it a camera with a movement sensor (or remote operated?), or a video camera?

    1. Hazel - yes :}

      It will take either stills or video, depending on how I set it up. PIR activated. Also infrared so will work at night.

  2. We have one of these but the only problem we have found is that any movement triggers it so windy weather results in a mammoth amount of film to whizz through - well maybe whizz isn't the right word!

    1. Sue, depending upon which model you have, the sensitivity can be altered. On this one I can put it to low/medium/high or auto. Right now I have just left everything on default.

  3. What a fantastic bit of kit.. I want one!!

    Hello, and thank you so much for leaving a comment on rusty duck. Your garden is absolutely glorious, and I love the pond. And the red squirrels! I really like the way you've done the bark paths too, we hope to do something similar when we finally get around to tackling the wood.

    1. The trick is going to be finding the right site for it, and remembering to buy a large SD card for all those images ... whoops!

  5. Fantastic. I look forward to seeing the photos, it should make things easier than trying to sneak up with a tripod.

    1. At least the memory cards I forgot to order have now arrived, just need Management to finish work and put his thinking cap on as to where/how we site it.
