Blogger interface

It had to happen - Blogger have confirmed that "in a few weeks" access to the old interface will be disabled.

Which means that, unless a lot of new features are miraculously added to the 'new' interface, our access to a great number of options about how our blogs look/feel/function will be permanently denied.

The reason for the photo of Ollie?  There is no reason, there doesn't have to be.

  1. I've just had a quick look at it, and I quite like it. Sorry :o). Obviously there are a lot of options that I don't use! What do you feel you're losing?

  3. The "trouble" with computing is that it continually evolves and not always for the better!

    Great photo of Ollie.

  4. Afternoon all, thank you for your comments. Quick reply 'cos in the middle of having the usual (and terribly necessary) pre-season shed tidy up! SewAli, if you have a look at all the options on the tabs in "settings" on the old interface and then go to the new one I think you'll find quite a few options no longer available. This won't be a problem for many users, for type A control-freaks it is, as Greenfingers says, evolution that is not always better.

  5. IT geeks always have to tinker with things! We have suffered this by having to recreate our websites for the third time in as many years and when you have 300 pages on just one website it's no joke. We have now resorted to just using on computer software to create our sites and to then use a hosting service. If that folds this time we can just upload everything to a different host - well that's the theory.

    I'll have to look and see what is missing as I too am a control freak! Love Ollie's photo by the way.

    1. You're right Sue, "they" just can't leave well alone :} When I was grumbling this morning Management did ask if I wanted to turn the blog into a website and find a friendly server to host it but I'd rather spend my time gardening than on the computer.

      Glad you like the Ollie pic., we were on a little hired boat on Coniston.

      PS: thank you to Martyn for the earlier comment, didn't immediately recognise the user name :}
