  1. Gorgeous photo Bilbo. Been catching up on your old posts - by 'eck you've been busy! Your quilting is amazing .... note to self, better not show First-Born or she'll be wanting to take up quilting! :P

    1. Liz, and what would be wrong with First Born starting to quilt? She could make you a lap quilt to put on your knees in your dotage (pfnar, pfnar, pfnar!!!)

    2. ....A First-Born-made quilt would be much prettier than the old single bed quilt that I currently have wrapped round my lower half whilst sat at my desk upstairs - and I'm not even in my dotage yet!!! :P

She's a seamstress/costumiere and is always making something or learning a new skill - she made 6 foam, lycra and plastazote giant costumes for Derby Playhouse's Christmas production of the BFG recently! Turns out she's also done some basic quilting on some padded jerkin-type things for some re-enactment costumes, but I don't think they're anything like as complicated as the gorgeous stuff you've done!

    3. First-Born sounds like a most Clever Girl. Did I ever tell you the reason I make quilts and not clothes is because they're flat - can't be doing with all this three-dimensional rubbish, setting in sleeves and ensuring a good fit!

  2. Oh how lovely. Try as I might I cannot get good nighttime pics on my camera. That shot of the moon through the branches is classic.

  4. Great pic! The Moon was beautiful here last night, shining on the snow that has stayed with us.

    1. Mo, very bright here too during the night, but no snow to reflect the light.

  5. Stunning pic Bilbo! Beautiful moon shining on snow here too last night. Was almost tempted out for a walk at bedtime! Mars was very bright too. Winter has a few compensations!

    1. Jill, it was almost bright enough here to walk around the garden, perhaps if it hadn't been so cold ...

  6. Yep absolutely face-numbingly freezing! Been out this afternoon barrowing logs about and refilling all the baskets inside.

    1. Jill, it was also face-numbingly freezing where I was this afternoon, but you'll have to wait until I have processed some photos and updated the blog to find out where!

    1. Pat, I wondered if the colour was because of the very low temperature?
