Fence, part 2

Half a day working in the sun and Martin & Donald had the new fence finished.

Despite being in the middle of a sea of bare soil that is full of ivy root and stones it looks great and has made a huge difference to that corner of the garden. Already three different neighbours have stopped to say how much they like the way the fence has been stepped round to match the corner and they are right - it looks extremely smart and even without windbreak netting gives us a sense of privacy. Living in a goldfish bowl since early January has not been ideal.

  1. Even when your ill and unable to get into the garden you make progress. Hope your soon feeling better.

  2. Well as has already been said, 2010 is the year of putting back at Bag End and it must be very satisfying watching all of your plans starting to materialise.

I think you will be quite astounded at the progress that you will make by the time Christmas arrives.

Hope the sniffles and sneezes are on their way out to let you enjoy your weekend.

  3. You're absolutely right - it is wonderful to be creating something after two years of destruction.

  5. Thanks Penny, glad you like it. This arrangement of rails is the same as the fences we had put up when we moved in to keep Ollie safe and it seemed to work.
